Mario Carlo Sia Ignes

During my days in University of Santo Tomas (UST), I participated in Reserve Officers Training Corps for one year as a requirement for graduation in our university. After graduating from the training I became enlisted in the Philippine Army Reserve Command with the rank of Private and currently under Standby Reserve status. During my senior year, I was appointed president of UST Red Cross Youth Council - Nursing Unit, a student organization under the Philippine Red Cross - Manila Chapter, for academic year 2015-2016. As president, I worked with my fellow officers and students by promoting humanitarian values and volunteerism and creating programs and events tackling issues in health and humanity. I then graduated last June 2016 with a BS in Nursing degree from UST and passed the Philippine Nurses Licensure Exam which I took last November 2016 and is now a Registered Nurse. I hope to learn more and use my knowledge to make a difference in healthcare for my patients and for humanity.
