Sharon Tshipa


I am a Media Practitioner, Writer and Social Entrepreneur. I have worked for international media news agencies such as Xinhua News Agency, Botswana Bureau, Devex, and Ventures Africa. Currently I am a Videographer for Juka Africa Agency and Agence France Presse. Locally, I have worked for the print media. As a journalist I do video, photography and text. When I am not doing media work I focus on my NGO and my fiction writing work. As far as literary writing is concerned, I have short stories and poetry published in literary magazines based in the United Kingdom (UK), Nigeria, Uganda, and Botswana. My short story titled ‘Like Little Ones Do’ won me a 2013 Kola Magazine Award in Nigeria. I also won the 2015 Poetavango Award for Short Fiction for my short story titled ‘Reality for Sale’. In February 2016 I was longlisted for the Online Writing Tips Fiction Prize.
